Question: If I only have 20-minutes, what exercise should I do?

Answer:  You can get quite a bit done! For strength and cardiovascular benefits, do a circuit of 6 different exercises for 45 seconds each. So like this:

  • Squat
  • Push up
  • Alternating Side Plank
  • Side Lunge
  • Dumbbell Bent Over Row
  • Russian Twist with a Dumbbell or Medicine Ball
Make sure to do a quick 2- minute warm-up of some dynamic movements like arm circles, leg swings and squats. Move non-stop, no rest for three rounds performing each exercise for 45 seconds. Take no longer than 5 seconds transition between exercises. Finish with a 2-3 minute stretch.
Or for a high-intensity variation do this:
  • Squat
  • Pushup
  • Jump Burpees
  • Side Lunge
  • Dumbbell Push Press
  • Speed skaters
  • Front Lunge
  • Dumbbell Bent Over Row
  • Jump Lunge
Do each exercise for 50 seconds taking no more than 3-5 seconds of transition and in the order written. Then repeat for a second set. Finish with 3-5 minutes of dynamic stretching.
